Our inaugural ECW Spotlight: Honoring Our Heroes & Connecting Our Parishes event will feature A Sacred Place, which offers volunteer non-profit programs for incarcerated women at York Correctional Institution in Niantic.

A Sacred Place’s mission is to inspire hope among the incarcerated women at York CI, the sole women’s prison in Connecticut. By offering them resources and support, we strive to empower them to cultivate responsible, educated, and spiritually fulfilling lives, free from drugs and crime.

This event will feature a presentation by Allison Fresher, Co-Executive Director of A Sacred Place, who will discuss its history and programs including: 

• Storybook Project
• My Caregiver & Me
• Houses of Healing
• Barbara Mahon Fund
• Healthcare Education
• Sacred Sweeties

About The ECW Spotlight

The ECW Spotlight will be held via Zoom on the first Thursday of each quarter, culminating in our Annual Luncheon in May. These welcoming town hall–style gatherings are designed to:

- Share inspiring stories and parish highlights
- Celebrate ministries and community outreach efforts
- Recognize faithful leaders and “heroes” within our churches
- Exchange ideas, resources, and encouragement
- Strengthen fellowship across all regions

Through these gatherings, we hope to honor the rich legacy of those who have come before us while also sharing our vision for the future through service, storytelling, collaboration, and shared success.
